Hera Pictures is an independent film and television production company founded by award-winning producer Liza Marshall.
LIZA MARSHALL
Founder
Liza established Hera Pictures in 2017. She previously produced the hit show Rivieira and the BAFTA nominated The State. She established and ran Scott Free London for Ridley Scott (Before I go to sleep, Get Santa, Welcome to the Punch, Life in a Day, Taboo) and prior to this was Head of Drama at Channel 4 for five years, executive producing many shows including The Red Riding Trilogy, Boy A, The Devil’s Whore, Misfits, Top Boy and The Unloved. She began her producing career at the BBC where she was responsible for many award winning dramas including The Long Firm, Eroica and The Sins.
ROB HARPER
Finance Director
Rob joined Hera Pictures as Finance Director in 2018, bringing extensive experience in financial management for TV and film production. Prior to this, he provided freelance finance support to numerous production companies, where he set up and managed finance departments and secured investment to drive business growth.
Earlier in his career, Rob was the Finance Manager at 4Rights, Channel 4’s commercial arm. Over a decade, he oversaw one of the UK’s largest independent programme investment funds, financing some of Channel 4’s most iconic productions, including Shackleton, Shameless, Green Wing, and Touching The Void. In 2011, Rob developed the innovative funding model for The Inbetweeners Movie, which became the UK’s most successful comedy film.
Rob is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA).
EMMA FOWLER
Head of Production
Emma joined Hera Pictures in 2023 from Channel 4, where she spent 5 years heading up the Comedy and Drama team as Senior Production Finance Manager , working on numerous comedy and drama series including The End of the F*cking World, Derry Girls, The Undeclared War and It’s a Sin.
Prior working at Channel 4, she spent 5 years at Sky as a Production Manager on series including Riviera, The Tunnel and Fortitude. She started her television career as an in house Production Manager at the BBC after several years working as a freelancer in the film industry on many independent films. Emma began her career in film and television production at the BFI.
RON O’BERST
Executive Producer
Ron joined Hera Pictures in December 2020. He was recently Executive Producer on BBC Three’s 8-part series What It Feels Like for a Girl, based on the memoir of the same name by Paris Lees. Ron was also Story Producer on DC Moore’s Mary & George for Sky Atlantic and Starz, which launched in 2024 to critical acclaim in the UK and US.
Prior to joining Hera, Ron was Head of Development at Drama Republic and was Head of Scripted Development at BBC Worldwide. Ron began his career working at Channel 4 and Discovery Networks International.
CHARLOTTE WEBBER
Executive Producer
Charlotte joined Hera in February 2024 following six years at Mammoth Screen, where she script edited World on Fire for Peter Bowker and The Pale Horse for Sarah Phelps, before going on to produce the final series of Endeavour, and later working inhouse as an Executive Producer.
Prior to this, Charlotte script edited on Amazon Prime series’ Good Omens and Anansi Boys and before that, she did ten different jobs in ten years, across various industries, with varying degrees of success.
BRIA THOMAS
Head of Development
Bria joined Hera Pictures in 2023 following three years at Playground Entertainment, where most recently she story produced The Undeclared War (Channel 4) and Dangerous Liaisons (Starz/Lionsgate).
Prior to this, she worked across both development and production at the BBC. She was script editor on titles such as Our Girl 4 and I May Destroy You.
She cut her teeth on the BBC’s EastEnders, working across both their story and script departments on over 100 hours of the show.
ARRAN SHARGALL
Development Producer
Arran joined Hera Pictures in 2022, where he script-edited DC Moore's Mary & George for Sky Atlantic and Starz. Recently, he story-produced BBC Three's What It Feels Like for a Girl, where he also co-produced the final block.
Prior to this, Arran was a Development Producer at Keeley Hawes' Buddy Club Productions, where he was responsible for curating the slate and bringing in new talent. His experience also includes script editing the first series of Industry and working as a Development Editor at Bad Wolf. Arran began his career at the BBC, where he spent 5 years working across Silent Witness, EastEnders, Doctors, and Holby City.
